A brief about Suhani

Born on 14 June 2004 in Faridabad, Haryana into a Punjabi kayastha Hindu family,Suhani Bhatnagar was an Indian actress popular for her role as young Babita Phogat in Dangal movie which released in 2016.

Suhani’s father Punit Bhatnagar works in an MNC while mother Pooja Bhatnagar is a homemaker. The late actress also has a sibling, Prerit Bhatnagar.

Did her schooling from Delhi public School Faridabad. She was pursuing a bachelor’s degree in journalism from Faridabad Rachna Manav university. She was focusing on her studies but wanted to do more films in future.

Dangal

Suhani Bhatnagar earned fame through her acting career which peaked with Dangal. Dangal movie was a biological sports drama film directed by Nitish Tiwari and produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao under Aamir Khan productions. While Aamir Khan featured as Mahavir Singh Phogat, zariya Wasim featured as young Geeta and Suhani Bhatnagar played the role of young Babita. The movie was released in 2016 and was a major blockbuster. 

Suhani Bhatnagar took a six month leave from school to film ‘Dangal’ and resided at Aamir Khan’s apartment for nearly the entire duration along with her cast stars Zariya Wasim, Sania Malhotra, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Suhani Bhatnagar showed excellence in acting with Babita Phogat’s role and her portrayal of young Babita Phogat garnered widespread acclaim, earning her the Star screen awards for the best child actor. Predating her role in Dangal, Suhani appeared in a print ad for Monte Carlo kids wear in 2013.

Demise

The tragic news of Suhana’s sudden demise shook everyone. The 19 years old was admitted to AIIMS on 7th February. It is said that the actress suffered a fracture in her feet two months ago and later developed complications due to medication. Doctors claimed water retention in her body. It is also being said that she was suffering from a rare disease called dermatomyositis. Her final rites were held at her house in Faridabad. 

Aamir Khan production house issued a statement in memory of the young actor expressing heartfelt condolences to the family. Nitish Tiwari who directed Suhani in Dangal also expressed grief at the sudden demise of the actress. Suhani Bhatnagar may have left this world prematurely but her legacy will always be marked on the hearts of those who knew her and the people who were touched by her work.
